Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 20, 2026
CustomsBrokerIndex.com ("we," "us," or "our") operates a publicly accessible directory of U.S. Customs & Border Protection (CBP)-licensed customs brokers. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information.
By using this website, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
1. Information We Collect
a) Information you provide directly
We collect information you voluntarily submit through our forms:
- Importer inquiries: name, email address, phone number, company name, and message when you contact a broker through the directory. Please be aware that your first name and a preview of your message may be displayed publicly on the CustomsBrokerIndex homepage as part of our live inquiry feed, to help brokers identify relevant leads. Full contact details (email, phone, full name) are never shown publicly.
- Broker claim requests: name, email address, phone number, company name, CBP license number, and optional message when a broker submits a claim request.
- Advertising / contact messages: name, email address, company name, and message when you use the contact form on the Advertise page.
- Broker profile edits: website URL, phone number, business description, year established, and contact details when a verified broker updates their profile.
b) Broker listing data (public records)
Broker profiles are built from publicly available data sourced from official CBP license records. This includes broker name, license number, license type, and general location. This is public information already published by the U.S. government. Verified brokers may add or update their own profile content.
c) Automatically collected data
When you visit the site, our hosting provider and analytics tools automatically collect:
- IP address and approximate geographic location
- Browser type and version
- Pages visited, time spent, and navigation path
- Referring URL
- Device type
- Session activity (clicks, scrolls, interactions)
This data is used to understand how the site is used, diagnose issues, and improve the directory experience. We do not sell this data.
d) Visitor identification technology
Because CustomsBrokerIndex.com is a B2B directory used primarily by importers, trade professionals, and logistics teams, we use third-party tools that may associate your visit with professional identity data — including your name, employer, and business email address — based on your IP address or browser signals.
Specifically, when you visit our website, cookies and similar technologies may be used by our data partners to associate your visit with other personal information they or others have about you, including association with your email address. We or our service providers may use this information to follow up with relevant information about our directory services.
You may opt out of this identification at any time:
— General opt-out: app.retention.com/optout
— GDPR opt-out: rb2b.com/rb2b-gdpr-opt-out

5. Public Inquiry Feed
CustomsBrokerIndex operates a publicly visible lead feed on the homepage that displays recent importer inquiries to help licensed customs brokers identify relevant business opportunities.
The following limited information from inquiry submissions may be shown publicly:

- Your company name, only if it appears to be a business name (e.g. contains "LLC", "Inc", or multiple words — not a personal name)
- The name and location of the broker you contacted
- The date the inquiry was submitted
Your full name, email address, and phone number are never shown publicly. These details are only accessible by the specific broker you contacted, or through our paid lead purchase process (see our Terms of Service).
Inquiries are removed from the public feed after approximately 30 days. If you wish to have your inquiry removed from the public feed sooner, email us at contact@customsbrokerindex.com with "Inquiry Removal" in the subject line.
